The UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center (CSRC) serves the entire campus and supports faculty and students in the social sciences, life sciences, humanities, and the professional schools. The CSRC houses a library and special collections archive, an academic press, research projects, community-based partnerships, competative grant and fellowship programs, and the Los Tigres del Norte Fund. Current research areas include demographics, labor, education, public health, and arts and culture. Latin American Studies is an interdisciplinary bachelor’s degree program which allows students to choose from a broad range of course offerings in various departments to develop professional and methodological skills with area expertise. A Latin American Studies minor is also offered.

MEChA, the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan is an undergraduate student organization that advocates for the needs of Raza students at UCLA. All are welcome to join the student movement of the Chicana/o movement.

MEChA Calmecac is a student-initiated and student-run academic support program in the Student Retention Center. MEChA created this project in an effort to assert self-determination for collective and individual academic achievement. The goal is to increase graduation rates of Chicana/o and Latina/o students through the programs’ five components.
